Hello Facebook friends ( at least I hope one or two of you might be reading ).  This is a website/blog I am developing in order to understand how to develop and run a website.  I am really stuck for ideas on what to write about, and not a natural ‘blogger’ at the best of times, but having recently installed Google Analytics I really want to see at least one or two visits to the site – call me vain – so I have resorted to posting a link on Facebook so that the Visits number on my google report at least gets off the mark…

Any ideas for what I can continue to blog about will be very gratefully received -

The long road ahead

I thought that after all these years I might have learned my lesson, but just as at school and university I am leaving until the last minute my homework.  Actually, thats not strictly true on this occasion, because I did do some a couple of weeks ago, but even so- its 20 to midnight on the day before its ‘due in’ so I feel like I did when I was at school.

I think I’ve successfully installed Google Analytics, my SEO plugin and my Spam filter – as you can see, I have browsed A LOT of themes and chosen one, prosumer, that I hope you agree makes my site at least look stylish – even if there is no substance to it at all !  I have tried to back up my database but think I have failed at this – will have to check tomorrow what I am doing wrong.

My Favicon is appearing as I write on my dashboard, but not, for some reason on my bookmarks bar.  Perhaps it needs to be restarted to appear, lets see if it works on the computer at work.

The picture, which is also on the header, is a favourite of mine, standing on the beach at Southwold.

Anyway – still no substance at all but I am working on it !

OK, so I’m back, and after a lot of thought and a fair amount of green eyed looking at other peoples sites I’m still looking for my great idea and my passport outta here.  So, I’m going to stick with this blog about me.  I’ve thought about all the things I do, enjoy and get told to do and will try to blog about those things as I go along.  Not sure at this point in time how often I will update but I’ll give it a go.

I hope I can keep things interesting – I reckon most of the material will come from my life on the road.  My job involves travelling the world, staying in some strange hotels and meeting some interesting characters along the way.  My aim is to provide an alternative review of the hotels I stay in and hopefully, over time can build up a resource for other business and leisure travellers to use.  As well as hotels and planes I will also blog about;

Food and wine I enjoy

The Music I love

My work ( perhaps )

and anything else that takes my fancy,  if anyone’s still reading I’ll be amazed but I believe very much in the Babel theory;
